BETHESDA, Md -- June 3, 2008 -- Scientists have identified distinct clusters of genetic markers associated with the likelihood of success or failure of 2 smoking cessation treatments: nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) and the medication, bupropion (Zyban). This study, supported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the National Cancer Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health, was published in the June issue of the journal, Archives of General Psychiatry.
