SCHAUMBURG, Ill., July 18, 1996-- Fifty children with serious skin conditions from across the nation are discovering safe, outdoor, interactive fun this week at Camp Discovery in Crosslake, Minnesota with the support of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD). This week-long summer camp, July 13-20, 1996, offers swimming, boating, fishing, arts and crafts, and camaraderie all under the expert care of volunteer dermatologists and nurses. Several of the counselors also suffer from skin conditions, giving them a unique perspective and heightened sensitivity while interacting with campers, ages 10-13. Now in its fourth year, the camp offers young people the opportunity to discover new friends and a new way of looking at themselves. Campers are fully subsidized by the AAD through donations from their members, corporations and dermatology groups.
