"Anastrozole Has Better Risk:Benefit Profile Than Tamoxifen for Breast Cancer Patients: Presented at ECCO" By Jill Stein PARIS, FRANCE -- November 2, 2005 -- There is new evidence in favor of using anastrozole as the preferred initial adjuvant treatment for postmenopausal women with hormone-sensitive early breast cancer, researchers reported here at the 13[th Annual Meeting of the European Cancer Conference (ECCO). Anthony Howell, MD, professor of medical oncology, University of Manchester, Manchester, United Kingdom, and associates reported findings from a combined analysis of the efficacy, safety, and tolerability events after 68 months of follow-up in the Arimidex, Tamoxifen, Alone or in Combination (ATAC) trial. |
