"Clomiphene Citrate Restores Fertility in Men With Prolactinoma and Decreased Sexual Function: Presented at ENDO 2006" By Maria Bishop BOSTON, MA -- June 30, 2006 -- Clomiphene citrate (Clomid) has been shown to restore fertility in men with absent or decreased sexual function associated with prolactinoma, researchers noted here at the Endocrine Society's 88[th Annual Meeting (ENDO 2006). Prolactinoma is the most common hormone-secreting pituitary tumor and secrete prolactin, a regulator of sexual function in men. In a study by Brazilian researchers, clomiphene citrate reverted hypogonadotropic hypogonadism in most men with prolactinoma who were taking traditional dopaminergic agonists, regardless of their prolactin levels. |
