        news Encephalomyelitis Mimicking Multiple Sclerosis Associated with Chronic Graft-Versus-Host Disease after Allogeneic Bone Marrow Transplantation

        Summary points:A 22-year-old woman with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) who underwent allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (BMT) develops pancytopenia, liver dysfunction, and oral lichen planus 6 months after transplantation, and optic neuritis after 7 months. Treatment, brain and spinal magnetic resonance imaging, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and cytology of CSF are described; images provided. The authors describe a case of encephalomyelitis mimicking multiple sclerosis associated with chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) and discuss neurological manifestations associated with GVHD.
