      Summary points:A 20-year-old presents with features of subacute intestinal obstruction and ultrasound evidence of free fluid in the pelvis and peritoneal cavity. This case report details the findings from endoscopy, surgical treatment, and biopsy. The authors describe the best approach to prevention of bleeding from stress erosive gastritis and the recommended surgical approaches in patients when more conservative measures are not effective.
