      Summary points:A 61-year-old presents with a left-upper-quadrant abdominal mass after experiencing several intermittent episodes of nausea, vague abdominal discomfort, and mild acid reflux, as well as 9-kg weight loss over 6 to 8 months. This case report describes the physical examination, radiological studies and biopsy findings, treatment, and outcome, and includes some images. The authors review the literature on the use of imatinib in GISTs.
