        news Technetium and Blood Extravasation Before Gammagraphy: A Case Report

        Summary points:An 80-year-old presents with an extensive black-to-purple soft plaque on the distal right arm, with a central depressed reddish area that coincided with peripheral intravenous access and appeared suddenly just before a thyroid gammagraphy. This case report discusses the history, clinical presentation, dermatological examination, and outcome, and includes some images. The authors discuss the non-vesicant property of technetium.
