      news Schizophrenia-Like Psychosis Following Left Putamen Infarct: A Case Report

      Summary points:A 38-year-old Caucasian man presents to the emergency department following a referral by his general practitioner. He complains of feeling increasingly stressed, anxious, and paranoid and of having flashbacks. Additional symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, physical and neurological examinations, blood tests, electroencephalogram, computed tomography, electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, and treatment are described. The authors discuss the onset of acute psychosis following a lacunar infarct in the putamen area.
