      Summary points:The authors report the case of a 4-year-old child with acute myeloid leukaemia, which upon relapse switched to acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Laboratory data, bone marrow biopsies, and immunocytochemistry are described. The morphologic, phenotypic, and molecular features suggest the origin of a new leukaemic clone.
