| Summary points: | A previously healthy 45-year-old presents with a 6-month history of frequent episodes of sudden daytime sleepiness during which he is difficult to awake, and which are becoming increasingly frequent. These are followed by frontal headaches lasting for about 2 hours, as well as restless during night-time sleep and periods of sleepwalking. This case report details the patient's neurological status and other diagnostic findings at presentation and follow-up after more than 40 months. The authors describe the pathophysiology of Whipple disease, the clinical presentation, and the patient's outcome. |
