      Summary points:A 34-year-old female, with hypertension and a 12-year history of moderate renal insufficiency diagnosed as glomerulonephritis, becomes pregnant. Progressive renal insufficiency is noted during each trimester of the pregnancy, and careful and continual monitoring is described. The authors discuss the best approach to management of care for pregnant women with renal insufficiency and pre-imposed preclampsia.
