        news Non-Prostatic Pathology on Prostate Needle-Biopsy - Colorectal Carcinoid: A Case Report

        Summary points:A 71-year-old presents with evidence of a colorectal carcinoid from the rectal mucosa obtained via transrectal prostate biopsies as part of a screening program for prostate cancer. This case report describes the biopsy findings, results from additional immunohistochemical stainings, molecular investigations, and outcome. The authors review the literature on rectal mucosa in prostate biopsies.
