        news Recurrent Spontaneous Pneumothorax During Pregnancy: A Case Report

        Summary points:A 38-year-old Afro-Caribbean woman presents at 32 weeks of pregnancy with chest pain and shortness of breath. Physical examination, pulse oximetry, chest x-ray, ultrasound scan, and surgery are described. The authors discuss the management of recurrent spontaneous pneumothorax with the insertion of an intercostal drain followed by surgical intervention immediately after pregnancy, and suggest that pneumothorax be considered in the differential diagnosis pregnant women experiencing chest pain and dyspnoea.
