        Summary points:A 62-year-old presents with a reddish maculopapulous rash with pruritus affecting the entire body except the face and legs as well as fever and watery diarrhoea that started 10 days after starting carbamazepine therapy for a diagnosis of epilepsy. This case report describes the laboratory findings, diagnosis, and treatment outcome. The authors discuss the common symptoms and signs of antiepileptic-drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome and review the literature.
