        news Gastric Acid Burns Because of a Disconnected Nasogastric Tube

        Summary points:A 48-year-old man who had a recent right-sided motor stroke leading to moderate level of consciousness presents with erythematous and tender skin on his back, with satellite lesions surrounding the main lesions, when a nurse discovers that his nasogastric tube became disconnected. This case report describes the clinical presentation, treatment, and outcome, and includes some photographs. The authors discuss the risk factors for and complications of prolonged contact of gastric juices with skin.
