        Summary points:A 20-day-old male infant presents with a 24-hour history of abdominal pain and distension accompanied by bilious vomiting. Physical examination, laboratory data, plain abdominal radiograph, ultrasonography, surgical exploration, histopathological examination, and postoperative course are described. The authors discuss an atypical presentation of an infected spherical colonic duplication located at the splenic flexure of the colon.
