| Summary points: | A 20-year-old with history of severe weight loss and a diagnosis of anorexia nervosa presents with a 2-month history of vague pain on the outer border of both legs and numbness over the dorsum of the feet and big toes that were exacerbated by walking and running and partially relieved by elevation. This case report describes the findings from physical examination and radiographic tests, the surgical procedure, and outcome, and includes some images. The authors discuss the pathophysiology of superficial peroneal nerve syndrome and review the literature. |
