news There May be a Link Between Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy and Familial Combined Hyperlipidaemia: A Case Report

Presented by:Cases Journal / Tosin Ajala, Junaid Rafi, Richard Wray, Mark William Whitehead and Jamal Zaidi
Summary points:A 26-year-old Caucasian female, with a strong family history of ischemic heart disease, presents at 8 weeks gestation for antenatal care. In a previous pregnancy she had an early spontaneous preterm delivery at 32 weeks complicated by intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy. Laboratory examinations are described. The authors discuss the need for lipid profiles in cases of early onset cholestasis of pregnancy to rule out hyperlipidaemia.
