Physical examination, haematological and biochemical parameters, laboratory data, chest radiograph, high resolution computed tomography, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, biopsy, and treatment are described. The authors discuss nitrofurantoin-induced interstitial lung disease and suggest that transbronchial biopsy might be useful for assessing the reversibility of pulmonary lesions associated with nitrofurantoin. |
