Presented by:World Journal of Surgical Oncology / Seza A Gulec, Kenneth Pennington, Michael Hall and Yuman Fong
Summary points:A 53-year-old with history of cervical cancer presents with a large liver mass. This case report describes the imaging results, as well as the medical and surgical treatments, and includes a series of images. The authors suggest that the portal vein radiation dose can be substantially increased with the intent of inducing portal/periportal fibrosis, which could accomplish the end points of PVE while avoiding tumour progression.
