        Summary points:A 55-year-old previously healthy woman is referred to a cardiovascular center for further investigation into a recent embolic cerebral infarction. Medical history; physical, neurologic, and cardiac examinations; electrocardiogram; magnetic resonance angiography; carotid doppler ultrasound; and 2-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography are described; images provided. The authors discuss the rare case of cor triatriatum diagnosed in an adult and presenting as embolic stroke or arterial embolism.
