        news Internal Jugular Vein Vascular Malformation Presenting as Mass at Root of Neck: A Case Report

        Summary points:A 27-year-old male presents with a gradually enlarging, asymptomatic swelling on the left supraclavicular region with normal overlying skin. Fine needle aspiration cytology, Doppler, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and histopathology are described; images provided. The authors discuss this first-reported case of an intrinsic vascular malformation arising from the jugular vein and review the importance of MRI in the preoperative diagnosis of masses at the root of the neck.
