news The Implications of an Incidental Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia in a Resection Specimen for Colorectal Adenocarcinoma

Presented by:World Journal of Surgical Oncology / Robert J Dennis and Justin C Alberts
Summary points:A 70-year-old presents with an 8-month history of loose stools. This case report describes the findings from flexible sigmoidoscopy and biopsy, the outcome of surgical resection, and the pathological and immunohistochemical findings. The authors write that this case suggests that slow progression of the B cell chronic lymphocytic leukaemia might increase the risk of recurrent rectal adenocarcinoma.
