| Summary points: | A 35-year-old female is referred because of the progressive decrease in the range of motion of her mandible for 2 years. Three years before, she underwent chemoradiotherapy because of an Epstein-Barr virus associated nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Complications that developed in the course of her disease, clinical examination, intraoral examination, and axial and coronal computed tomography of the facial skeleton are described. The authors discuss a very rare form of myositis ossificans of both masseter muscles after 4 weeks of intensive care due to critical illness neuropathy after chemotherapy. |
