        news Acute Generalized Exanthematous Pustulosis with Severe Organ Dysfunction

        Summary points:A 53-year-old male presents with a generalised exanthem with systemic inflammatory response syndrome. Seven days prior he had been prescribed cefprozil for a spider bite, and developed a rash, for which he received famciclovir. Computed tomography, physical examination, and laboratory tests are described; images provided. The authors discuss characteristics, causative agents, and recovery in cases of acute generalised exanthematous pustulosis resulting from a rare severe cutaneous drug reaction.
