| Summary points: | A 42-year-old with history of migraine presents with unsteady gait, gaze-evoked nystagmus and truncal ataxia that resolved spontaneously after about 18 hours and recalled similar previous episodes that involved clumsiness and occasional falls. She had no headache, hearing loss or dysarthria during these episodes. This case report describes the investigations, diagnosis, and treatment outcome, and includes a video. The authors discuss various conditions that can mimic episodic ataxias and inherited diseases that are associated with ataxia. |
