Summary points:	This audiovisual presentation discusses patient selection for positron emission tomography (PET) myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) in private practice, compares PET MPI to single photon emission computed tomography MPI for assessment of patients with known or suspected coronary artery disease, shares the rationale for practice-wide availability of PET, describes how PET availability affects utilisation of other testing modalities, provides data demonstrating clinical value of PET perfusion imaging, and discusses issues of PET perfusion imaging in the hospital-based environment.
