        news A Genome-Wide Association Study Exploring Statin-Induced Myopathy

        Summary points:This presentation describes the design of the genetic analyses carried out in the SEARCH trial, the postulated mechanism for the increased risk of myopathy associated with the polymorphisms examined in this study, as well as the clinical utility and limitations of using a single nucleotide polymorphism to diagnose patients at risk of developing myopathy while receiving high-dose statin therapy.
