        Summary points:This text-based presentation provides an overview of new protocols using immunosuppressive drugs to improve long-term graft survival in heart transplant patients, uses of new immunosuppressive agents and regimens to reduce toxicity in the prevention and treatment of acute allograft rejection, ways to minimise immunosuppressive complications leading to increased morbidity and mortality, and newer prophylactic strategies to improve outcomes of at-risk patients.
